Process
Each one of will become an expert on one of the creatures and its defense mechanisms. The head researcher, (your teacher), will assign you an animal/insect and your job is to learn all about that creature and its defense mechanisms. You will then use that information to write a narrative about a situation when your creature and its predator meet.
Step 1
When the head researcher assigns you an animal, you will follow the tab for that animal. Each tab will include links to websites and videos that are resources to help you learn more about your animals.
Step 2
Before you begin researching, your teacher will go over the Expert Group Animal Research Journal. This will be what you use to keep track of all of the new information you are learning about your animal and its defense mechanisms.

Step 3
Research away! Follow the links and watch the provided videos to learn as much as you can about your animal. Fill out your Expert Group Animal Research Journal along the way.

Step 4
The final portion of this WebQuest is to write a narrative about an interaction between your animal and its predator. How will it use its defense mechanisms to protect itself? This is the biggest portion of the WebQuest because you will be creating a rough draft and peer editing your classmates' work.
